Porsche AG has unveiled the new 911 GT3, the first GT model based on the 8th generation Porsche 911. Developed together with the Porsche Motorsport division, the new 911 GT3 extensively applies pure racing technology. It features a double-wishbone front suspension, a swan neck rear wing that provides sophisticated aerodynamic effects, and an eye-catching diffuser inspired by the successful GT race car 911 RSR. The 4.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine producing a maximum output of 510 horsepower (PS) is based on the drivetrain of the 911 GT3 R, which has been proven in endurance races. The high-revving engine, which delivers an impressive sound, is also used in the new 911 GT3 Cup. Efficient, emotional, and precise, the new 911 GT3 achieves high performance and demonstrates perfect capabilities that suit both the racetrack and everyday driving. For a pure driving experience, Porsche offers two models equipped with a 7-speed Porsche Dual-Clutch Transmission (PDK) and a 6-speed manual transmission. With the manual transmission, the top speed reaches 320 km/h, faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS (318 km/h with PDK), and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Thanks to the new wing and diffuser elements, downforce has significantly increased during high-speed cornering. Using the sophisticated aerodynamic know-how accumulated from motor racing experience, it generates greater downforce without affecting the drag coefficient. Continuing the tradition of testing the performance of all Porsche sports cars at the extreme Nürburgring Nordschleife, it set an astonishing record 17 seconds faster than the previous model. Driver Lars Kern completed the 20.8 km course in 6 minutes 59.927 seconds. On the 20.6 km section used for comparison with the previous generation model, it took 6 minutes 55.2 seconds. Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister During multiple laps driven by rg Bergmeister, the 911 GT3 equipped with optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires maintained consistent performance. As an experienced professional driver, Bergmeister commented that it is the "most outstanding production car" among the Models he has driven so far at the "Green Hell." Despite having a wider body, larger wheels, and several additional technologies, the weight of the new 911 GT3 is similar to the previous Model, with 1,418 kg for the manual transmission Model and 1,435 kg for the PDK Model. In addition to the rear seat space with the seats, a characteristic of the 911 GT3, weight was reduced through the carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) front hood, lightweight glass windows, optimized brake discs, and forged lightweight alloy wheels. Thanks to the lightweight sports exhaust system, the weight reduction reaches 10 kg. The electrically adjustable exhaust flaps, which comply with the Euro 6d ISC FCM (EU6 AP) emission standards, provide an emotional sound. The combined fuel consumption of the new 911 GT3 is 13.3 L/100 km (12.4 when equipped with PDK). Every detail element of the new 911 GT3 reflects racing DNA. The cockpit follows the features of the current 911 model while adding a track screen. When you press the button, the central tachometer, which displays engine speed up to 10,000 rpm, shows information necessary for circuit driving on both sides, including tire pressure, oil pressure and temperature, fuel tank level, and coolant temperature. It also includes a visual shift assistant that displays information with color bars and a shift light derived from motorsport. The Porsche GT models have a high demand for personalized equipment. The 911 GT3 also allows you to choose GT3-specific options, including Porsche Exclusive Manufacture products and a carbon fiber lightweight roof. Carbon fiber side mirror covers, LED matrix main headlights treated in a dark color, and exclusive design rear lights that remove red color elements are also key features. Guards Red or Shark Blue colored wheel rims make the black alloy wheels stand out even more. The tachometer, Sport Chrono stopwatch, and seat belts and trim strips matched to the exterior color (or requested color) are elements that complete an elegant interior design.
